Title: Iridium Spark Plug
Post by: guest1376 on October 10, 2011, 05:58:00 PM
Hi, thinking of getting an iridium spark plug for my XBR, the read up sounds pretty good......anyone recommend these? Or are they just an expensive plug?

Thanks,
Dave.

I've had one in my XBR for a few years. It does seem to pick up a little cleaner than a regular plug and starting has never been a problem but don't expect a huge preformance boost.

I've used one in my singles for a while now and believe you get better starting and a more reliable tick-over (less stalling on my SLR650)

So I think worth the money but as others have said not really a performance enhancing alternative.

I put one in my xbr a couple of months ago - definite improvement with tickover and less stalling.

This is what convinced me to buy one:

Best improvement on the MUZ.    normal plugs 4-5000k's
Iridium....  cant remember but over 20,000.  Best is I dont have to strip the bike at the side of the road to clean the plug when it starves of fuel.
