Title: Wire wheels and an unexpected journey
Post by: JOOLZ on August 11, 2011, 05:52:42 PM
Got home earlier from a trip to Peterborough, to meet Richard (spalding on the Thumper club) quite a journey especially as it was only planned last night. I bought a set of wire wheels for my Honda XBR500. I have been looking for a set ever since I got the xbr a few years ago, more so now as its a cafe racer. It worked out to be a 360 mile trip in the trusty old Ford Mondeo diesel which has great fuel economy (it used half a tank) Suzanne drove the whole way as she enjoys driving and Im not keen on cars. We did the round trip in 7 hours which included a burger and cup of tea at the services. We arrived back home pretty stiff. Im now looking forward to swapping the tyres over and putting the new wheels on.

Excellent stuff. I am glad the long journery was worthwhile!
