Title: Handling performance tip
Post by: guest24 on May 16, 2011, 09:24:09 AM
Some of you may remember my burblings a while ago about the tyres on MT-03 and how I thought the handling was a little odd. Basically I had a BT021 on the back and a Dunlop Qualifier on the front and found the bike trying to fall into corners which was a little off-putting when commuting in London.

At the MOT I got an advisory note saying the front tyre is looking tired and should be replaced soon. :-X

I now have a BT021 on the front as well and what a difference it makes to everything. The steering is neutral, it goes into corners properly and the girlie-lines on the back tyre have shrunk by about a centimetre. I am very pleased with this result.

I regret being too tight in the wallet department to have wanted to changed the old tyre before it wore out. Grrr at HMRC. Next time I think the tyre(s) are dodgy on a bike I will just bite the bullet and buy new ones as poor handling is very unpleasant, spoils the enjoyment and is potentially dangerous.
