I am thinking of buying one of these http://classicpartsltd.com/830-halcyon-bar-end-mirror.html for the SRX (I will have to modify the bar end weight to suit)

They look to be good quality mirrors, has anyone used one and how well do they cope with vibration ?

I had something similar (though not this make) on my Cossack and they did vibrate quite a bit a 60ish, the rear view was a bit restricted too. :-\

Hi Steve,
I use mostly handlebar end mirrors and the fitting you have selected is by far the best, just don't tighten it too hard or the throttle will stick on the bar, DAMHIK. You might like to look at the four sided mirror rather than the round, the 4 sided one gives you a much wider field of view behind, from immediately behind out to the overtaking lane just behind out to lane three 400 yards back.

I have these on my Francis Barnett and although very good I had problem keeping them tight not so much the clamps but the socket where mirror fits into the handlebar clamp, Its a sort of groove with a matching part to locate in it.

I have the same mirrors on my xbr and they work well, the new fixing system (like a bicycle handle bar clamp) is a great improvment over the original design. You will have to remove the barends to fit them and maybe trim the end back on the twistgrip

Used on the old Fokker (BMW really) for years and before that on a Cagiva Allazurra. They work great but please don't fit two.

Steve...you'll need to remove the bar end weight....least, i did.....anyway, i think the standard srx bar end weights are a bit ugly and don't make any difference....my old bike is as stable as anything...never shakes its head

I used a Stainless one of these on my 1st Bonnie.
Cant say I had a problem with it at all.

Cheers for the comments, I've now ordered one. I broke my last mirror 5 or 6 years ago so I'm going to have to learn to use it !.

Do you not worry that it is going to make your bike extra-wide and more difficult to filter in traffic?

Received it today, a nice bit of kit. It will make the bike wider but since its fairly narrow to start with it hopefully wont be an issue.

That's why i call the ones on ny Srx elbow protectors - when they start bouncing of car mirrors I know to tuck my arms in :o ;)

The standard XBR jobs are more like elbow admirers. Your elbows are pretty much all you can see in them.

You should try the standard ones on a Moto Guzzi T4 :'(
