Both Lidl & Aldi are selling their usual Bike gear in the next few days, Aldi from 3rd and Lidl from 7th. Jackets, trousers, lids, gloves, boots , thermals, etc. As always buyer beware, some of their stuff is pretty good ( My lidl trousers are still going strong and waterproof) other stuff might not be so good.

Shame the Aldi jacket is so luminous, but >£40, whilst the Lidl one is more acceptable a color but >£70. I bought a cheaper Lidl one a few years ago and it has done well.
Aldi helmet not so good though.
Must find a way of picking up a new bike cover x 2.

Aldi are doing covers. Their tank bags are good too, not sure if they're doing them this time round though.

Yeah, quality varies. The jackets and trousers ( at least when I bought mine) were good. Ok I'd never heard of the maker, but the labels were top class, Cordura - the proper heavy duty grade- goretex - scotchlite and proper CE rated armour. On the other hand the helmet I tried felt like a coal scuttle and the gloves looked mighty thin and flimsy.

Have had a lidl tank bag for a while now, I'm quite happy with it but probably wouldn't have been if it wasn't so cheap. Didn't take long for the zips to go a bit buggered but that might be due to my own habit of jamming as much stuff in it as possible ::). Having said that it did bring back a good pile of goodies from Newark autojumble last month but I don't feel it's up to the same punisment as my old oxford one which only died when I slid down the road on it when using it as a rucksack :( ;)

I was at Newark a few years ago when I noticed a large crowd around one of the stalls. Having a nosey to see what was going on, there was a bloke with a Guzzi solo tying a spare Guzzi engine to the pillion seat/rack with rope!!! Everyone was taking bets on how far he would get before he or it or both fell off!! I hope he didn't have far to go and didn't have to turn any corners! Oh for a camera!
