Here's to our Saint and hopefully a soon to be bank holiday. ;D

Yes, a bank holiday is overdue for the national saints days. Of course one other tradition on this day is pointing out to the other three nations that of the four saints only our saint was actually born in the country that honours him.
My boys are waiting for school, dressed in red, with eisteddfod competition models packed on the back seat of the car. Somewhat disturbingly my son, when given the option of making a model of a local landmark, made a Lego representation of the interior of the local British Legion club, complete with band on stage, bar and skittle alley. He's eight years old ::)
I'm holding out for the introduction of Saint Hailwoods day.

A bank holiday on the IOM is no good to me.

Why not join us at the Norton Factory in Bracebridge Street on Sunday 20th. March, 9:30 am for the Mike Hailwood Memorial Run? It is always within 2/3 days of the anniversary of his accident. Pleasant escorted ride through Brum to Tanworth in Arden where Mike is buried, followed by a short service attended by Mike's wife and David, his son, plus other old racing friends. People then go off and do their own thing. We generally go to a good pub, have lunch and come home. WE is members of the Velo Owners Club but the run is for anyone and any bike of any age. David Hailwood usually rides a Ducati, so last year I joined him on the 900ss with some other Duc owners.

Unfortunately I will be bike-less again by then, but if something turns up I will certainly come along. Been meaning to do that run for years. I even had a brief email chat with Pauline Hailwood about it in its first year.

As long as we get to keep May Day you can have your Saints Day. ;D
Never realised you were religious Mark. ::)
I was also under the impression that Wales didn't exist in the time of Dewi Sant but never mind. ;
Could really go for a Hailwood day though.
