After years (and years, and years....) of riding old lumps of someone elses problems, I finally decided to get myself a new bike. Popped into a local dealer on Friday with a pretty fixed view of what I wanted, only to have the salesman talk me into trying something I wouldn't of considered myself. Sunday saw me riding off toward the Vale of Glamorgan for a few hours play and it wasn't long into the ride that I knew I'd be buying the bike.
So, just for fun, who wants a game of "Guess the bike" You can ask any question you like but I can only answer YES or NO. Winner gets to, to, to hear me rabbit on about my new bike. ;D ;D ;D

I shall soon be the proud owner of a DL 650A GT Suzuki V-Strom in 'burnt orange'. It comes with, ABS, Full set of matching hard luggage, centre stand, heated grips and hand guards plus I've bought the engine bars (wise move following dropping the XT at a garage forecourt on the way to the Dragon :-[)
How piggin' chuffed am I???

Oh very good choice Pat!! MCS&L had one on long term test a couple of years ago and reckoned it was a cracking allrounder, the only thing the tester was disappointed with was having to hand it back at the end of the test!
Well done mate!!
-
Must say riding it on Sunday totally converted me to modern kit. So easy to ride and so capable. Can't wait to take it on a long haul road trip. Off to find a piccie... back soon.

Mine's like this but with engine bars.
-
Every long term road test I saw for this bike said that they didn't want to hand it back again.
Good choice

Excellent choice Pat, I'm proud of you. I would have one at the drop of a hat as the reviews are excellent and the 650 version isw much more versatile than the 1000cc version. You can get loads of kit for this bike and it will trail. Lots of people go arounmd the world on these bikes and they have a hell of a reputation. Just get some protection fro the front header and the oil filter at the front of the engine. There are some very good small bash plate cum protectors for these. ;D
(PS Fuel injected , welcome to the 21st Century!)

PS Will you be getting some new Riding gear to suit or will you be getting someone to dress you?????????????

:D LOL :D
Nothing wrong with a little 'playing room' in the trouser department. Some of us need a bit of space down there. ;)
Yep, chuffed with my choice and you are partly to blame Mr D. Did lots of reading between trying and buying and think I've got it right.

Nice purchase Pat, enjoy.
