I was searching through a mound of CDs I have here, you know the ones that never get played now. I found this gem of a track....by a little known (Aussie?) group called Rest Assured. Then I JUST HAD to compare it with the Verve. (dont you just wish you could smack Richard Ashcroft in the gob in that video!!)

Interesting stuff, I'd heard that the riff was from a Stones track but I didn't know the full story. Seems a shame that they Stones took the full songwriting credit for it though... a bit churlish, lmho.

I have to say that Ashcroft really irritates me, if only for the fact that he plays his guitar in a really stupid way, like he's got no use of his lower right arm. It might seem petty, but these things do matter  ;)
