Help,
me and Jan (wife) are visiting Cardiff for the Rugby League :) weekend, 12/13 Feb. Both those nights are planned, but we arrive on Friday and need a decent pub band to listen to on Fri 11th in Cardiff centre (we're staying by the station, don't fancy walking in the cold) Blues preferred, but anything non-karaoke is good ;)
Any suggestions ?
Thanks

Sorry mate, I don't really go to gigs much these days so I can't really help.
There's a good music venue just outside the centre called the Globe (on the site of my old local cinema), they have a Muse tribute band on that night. See HERE (http://www.altuk.com/theglobe/) for details. Scarily enough, if you were in town on Saturday they have John Cooper Clarke playing, "some people find it hard to find a name for you, but I don't, twat"
Ocean Colour scene are playing the Uni (a short walk from the city centre) but it says they are sold out :(
A great blues venue in Cardiff is the Royal Oak pub, but I haven't been for years so can't vouch for it. I think RobG has been there lately. HERE (http://www.theroyaloakcardiff.co.uk/)'s their events page. The pub is less than two miles out of the city centre, but in a rough neighbourhood. It's not terrible but it's worth knowing about beforehand.
Er...
I'll see if I can turn up anything else
