Title: Gadding
Post by: guest868 on December 23, 2010, 09:07:51 AM
With another day off yesterday I had a few chores to do, first of which was collecting a lamb for the freezer from the butchers over in the next town across the valley. The roads were all pretty good apart from the slushy sleet. Oh and people not yielding.
Anyway, once home and with a nice curried chicken, sweet potato and marrow soup in my belly I thought I should go and see what the other lanes were like.
I got stuck at least 5 times I think, 4mm of rear tread does not a grippy TKC make.
So first up was the lane not a mile from home, it is a dead end but still with some good views.

Unfortunately it is also a bit steep. Turnaround and back down.
Over then to Usk and try and head over past the log pile. Doing quite well until the gradient increased. I got off the bike here with it in first, idling and the rear wheel slowly spinning.

Hmm, ok how about Wentwood. I'l try a different way in than last year...

Hurrah! Only mild sleet and slush. Up into the wood and a bit of titting about on the snow, before turning round and heading back home.

On the way back I slowed to take a sunset pic and spotted these two horse, who also spotted me, and came for a nosy.

A good little trundle, though I'm disappointed in the lack of grip.

Very Nice Pics !

Mind not a lot grips in snow, let alone chunky tyres so dont worry too much !
