I half expected it to end in tragedy, especially with some poor sod on a zebra, although it did sound as though he clipped a car during filtering....at a ridiculous  speed.

Read some of the comments concerning the video....I think that brings home the shear stupidity of it all....the problem is that we are all tarred with the same brush.

Well, whatever we think about his behaviour, I have to say (as someone who rides like a demented arsehole in traffic myself) that his riding skills are pretty bloody impressive.

I concur with GC technically, some very talented riding -  however there is a difference between riding for excitement and acting like a complete dick.  If one watches the clip closely there are any number of opportunities for this egoist to kill someone who would have been minding their own business.

Sadly I observe more and more people who are completely blind to other people's right to go about their business without being interfered with or impeded by someone out on some sort of ego wankfest.

If it's risk and thrills you lack, go gratify yourself somewhere where others are not going to be a made to suffer when you inevitably get it wrong.

onepot, I'm with you  ;)

Been chased by the blueys lots of times, NEVER caught  ;D ;D ;D

They won't do for money what others do for fun  ;)

I'm afraid I'm with Steffan. If you want to impress me then do dangerous stuff where you wont orphan children or destroy parents lives etc.
Bikes are fun but risk and excitement should be sought off road somewhere.

If the Police ever chase a rider and don't catch them then they're not using their radios/brains properly... any sort of chase nowadays is filmed and the number plate easily available. They can radio ahead and catch the rider further up the road, or wait at the home address and nab them there.
If you have false/no plates on, then expect huge penalties when they catch you in this country.

I never play in built-up/pedestrian areas, but where there are just cars, trucks etc, then I enjoy myself. Over here it's easier than UK, quiet, twisty roads, cops who are generally more human than the point-searching robots in Gtr Manchester, Cheshire, N. Wales etc.....

Riding like an ar5e is riding like an ar5e where ever it's done. Busy town or country road. Hope you still think it was all 'play' when it does go wrong (which it will one day)

Thought the clip was just plain moronic TBH and switched off once I'd got the jist of it.

Trashed a few bikes, got a few injuries. Part of the game, no risk no thrill. been playing on bikes for over 40 years ;)

Road Hogs was a funny film ;D

Did I mean Wild Hogs? Huh!

I think the point is, if it is a public road then there is no such thing as no-risk to other. Just trucks and cars??

That said I have this sneaking feeling you are attempting to wind us up.... ;)

Lots of people ride bikes for the pure thrill, why else  ???

They are not comfortable compared to cars, trains, buses.
Many cars are more economical to run than medium/large capacity bikes.
If you obey the rules, allowing time for donning UK type protective clothing, then a car or bus are quicker.
So why ride bikes?

Nearly losing it gives the best rush ;D
If I had to ride like the Trail Riders Fellowship or the local HOG group on a Sunday run I'd give up bikes.

1, I ride for the feeling of being outside in the fresh air pottering about taking in the scenery.

2, I feel more comfortable on a bike. My bike is far more economical not that this is an issue. Where are you going in such a rush you need to get there quicker?

3, Losing it gives the best rash. But if I had to ride like the local HOG group on a sunday morning I too would give up bikes.

how long does it take to don a helmet, not as long as waiting for a bus

Spent many years commuting in the UK... warm mid-layer, waterproof suit, boots, gloves; stash regular jacket and shoes in a top box (vile things, upset the balace) or in panniers, mess around with locks and chains; reverse at the other end. Takes a long while, especially if you obey all the highway code etc. whilst commuting.

If you follow ALL the rules, you would be riding like the local HOG on Sunday.

Break one speed limit, filter too fast or on the wrong side, cross a double white, pull a wheelie or stoppie and you're a highway criminal. Who has never done any of those ???
Some just do it more enthusiastically than others  ;D

Hope to be riding with occasional crashes for another 20 years ....or die trying ;)

I'm not saying that old Boris-Balls-out is doing the right thing, but he does do it very well and yes I do understand the attraction of hooning around a city in rush hour. Apart from insane speed enduro riding (which can be much more life-threatening imho) there's little to compare with car weaving at speed for a buzz.

There I've said it, am I a bad man?

If you're looking to reinvent your persona GC you're wasting your time, we all know you too well. So you want to be a "Bad Man" ooh err...... :-*

As for hacking about in traffic, well OK, but an mindset that seems to take no consideration of anyone else is very worrying. No man is an Island. Everyone speeds on occasion and misjudges an overtake but an attitude which suggest that one is entitled to thrill seeking whilst endangering others is in my opinion seriously reprehensible.

Yes I despite myself - I liked Wild Hogs  - my 10YO and I are planning a Pan-America trip when he is old enough.

Hope we're being wound up cos the aparent lack of regard for others is just abhorent.

I wonder if these speed jockeys have ever been in traffic and been cut up by a bike/car/bus/lorry as they drove with no thought for others and thought to themselves, "Ah bless the little mite, great to see him enjoying himself"

People need to realise we all live together and have an unspoken responsibility to each other.

If you want thrills, take up paragliding.

As for why I ride bikes... Cos it makes me smile  ;D

Some of us "speed jockeys" find it more challenging when the guy in the Mondeo tries to close the gap.  :P
I never complain when a "potterer" (a mobile traffic hazard be it bike/car/tractor) holds up traffic down a long country lane, I just have a bit of fun trying to get past the line of cars first without running out of road  :D

Done free-fall parachuting up to 15 seconds freefall, UK weather meant it took a whole year to get 32 jumps in... had more fun thrashing the old CX500 the 45-mile journey home. Wife will not consider me doing base jumping.
Worked on steel towers in the days before safety belts etc.
Done track days, OK for a couple of laps.

The rest of the time I'm very pc, law-abiding (in Spain we have a Constitutional Right to grow Nature's Weed for own consumption ;) ) and pure Humanist.

Riding a bike my way is how I relax completely   8)

One of the many reasons I left UK, having FUN is a way of life here, no nanny state attitude  8)

You can always go on an Enfield holiday and ride around Dehli to your hearts content where they all ride/drive in that manner.

It's easy when you're the only one doing it but see how much fun it is when Joe public doesn't have road sense or feel responsible for your safety.
