Right now my biking is pretty much restricted to a solitary and fairly ratty old MZ. This is so for lots of reasons, mainly financial, but all in all it has been really ******* year.
So last night I was lying in bed at about 3 a.m. when I heard some fairly drunk voices walking past. Wasn't asleep anyway. At just before 4 I heard a strange knocking on my front door and went down with a torch. It was a mate from the local constabulary telling me that the poor old MZ had been pushed out into the road and suffered some damage. Had a look this morning and it has had its tacho and speedo smashed up.
Bloody marvelous. Haven't got the energy to sort it out right now but for gods sakes. I live on the outskirts of a small town with the lowest crime rate outside Rockall. What I do know is that there was a school "Snow Ball" on last night so plenty of young drinkers making their way home.
Gits.

Burn down the whole of Cwmann - that'll sort em. Smash an old MZ? - they should be dragged behind it for a mile.
We'll get it sorted Mr M, I am back tomorrow for over a month and I can feel a transplant coming on.

Hearing about incidents like this really do p1ss me off.
My friends pride an joy 'real' bonnie was dragged out of his garage and hammered up and down the back lanes of the town then just chucked on the floor and disgarded, cost him a small fortune to put back to concours. Then his sons 125 goes missing.

Contact the MZ Riders Club, Richard.
My understanding is that they still have a secret police section. Put them on the case and the perpetrators will simply vanish, never to be seen again.
Life sentence in a salt mine somewhere near Rotherham.

It would take a huge snowdrift to lose his collection of rusty old cr*p,you have never seen anything like it.

Sadly, my experience of UK Plod pre "y2k" was that they were disinterested jobsworths who were there just to meet their "target points" and "screw the rest of you with a genuine problem".
Cynical? Me ???

Which puts a couple of us neatly in our places.
Re the Beemer I had thought I was welded to it too, currently feeling rather less so. 'Tis after all only a machine.

Well there are always those exceptions that prove the rule old boy?

A bit like the old catholic priest/peadofile scenario, there are exceptions, I think.

Seems to depend on the area, where I lived a few years ago I'd have agreed, Fife Police however were extremely efficient and hardworking (really, I was surprised at first and then impressed). Where I am now, I don't know yet but first impressions have been good.
Best not to tar everyone with a big brush, can often leave one feeling rather foolish when you meet the exception later ;)

Was in Greater Manchester. 3 burglaries in 4 years, to say the police were indifferent would be to exagerate their interest. :(
and that was an improvement on the days of "god's copper" James Anderton, Chief Constable, 1980's !

Understandable then!! It is crap when those who are supposed to care don't. Makes the whole thing a bit pointless :-\ and sh1t for all those on the receiving end.
