Title: Project thoughts...
Post by: el vencejo on November 12, 2010, 05:46:58 PM
Having looked at custom-made supermono stuff, like Tigcraft, I can't help looking at VFR and CBR 400's: a bit over 160kgs with the heavy 4-cyl motor, big radiator, lots of plastic and VERY cheap especially with faulty motors.
How light and agile would a naked single-sided swingarm VFR be with a HondaYamSuzi air cooled Big Single motor  8)?

The first Tigcrafts used a frame with the same basic dimensions and geometry as the NS400R, the next generation were pretty much RGV250 copies. The only problem with using a thumper engine in a 2-stroke chassis is the height of the engine but a few people have done it.

Back in the 90s a bloke raced an Dominator-engined NC30 to some success. Looked bloody lovely too, I'll see if I've still got the article (which translates as I do have the article but I can't find it at the minute)
