;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D izzat enough grins to convey my state of mind at this time I wonder. Maybe a few more to be safe ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
After 5 months of having been told yes and then no and then yes and then no etc by the G.P. and by DVLA I was resigned to having to wait another 12 months before I could reapply for my driving licence (Medical grounds) and the following 6 months whilst a decision was made then.
Today I heard the letterbox flap go "P'tang" (as it does) and was expectin g it to be the normal junk mail or bills.
I and I were somewhat less than exited when I picked the small brown envelope up with the "Return to Swansea SA99) on the back. Assumed it was just confirmation of the DVLA medics giving me the No - No on the licence officially.
SURPRISE SURPRISE!
In this insignificant little envelope was a [plastic card with a picture and some writing on it. There was also a bit of greenish paper with more writing on that.
The general Gist of it was that THEY GAVE ME MY LICENCE BACK AND MADE IT FOR 7 YEARS THIS TIME!!!!
Good job I didn't sell the XBR innit!

I just went out and had a celebratory Bimble around the Lune Valley area with brother Sprogs on his Fishcake. Lovely to be doing it without thinking that I'll lose it soon ;D
I need a "HUGE GRIN" smiley now.

Bloody fantastic news, it's made me smile so God knows how bloody smug you must be looking ;)

Excellent! As an ex-medical-bannee, I watched this thread with interest and no small amount of sadness. You take care, and welcome back on the road.
You'll enjoy it so much more now...

Good news at last, if it was me looking at not riding again I'm not sure what I would do.
I don't think any of us know what we have until it is taken away. We take so much for granted in life but I suppose that is the way it has always been.
Ride on and ride safely.
