Found some old photos last night, including one of the CB250RS I had and after it blew up, subsequently built as a light custom.

The RM 80 I bought at 14 (1993), the TS125 was done for my 17th birthday (1996), the 250 was around 1998/99 and the TR1 was taken the same day, mid build.

Marymotherofgod! that TR1 is mental. Any pics of the final build?

Dont think the exhaust would be very efficient on the TR1..
When I used to help out a couple of Drag Racers there was a Fella and his Girlfriend used to race several TR1s.Pretty good they were too.Pukka Drag bike thingies.
But he got a little pissy at Santa Pod when my mate on a 750 beat him... ;D

Here's how it ended up-

I had to fit some meggas on it to silence it after getting pulled over by the police one day. It was a little loud.

You're not wrong about the exhaust! that was back before I knew about preformed bends! Still, was a good learning curve.
You thinking of Edgar Hedley and his missus Sheenagh? They both ran TR1s in the Supertwins series. He built the engine up that's in mine. Think they live abroad now.

I often looked at TR1 lumps and thought how good they would look in a 'bed - thought they were shafties though - did the engine man convert it to chain or am I mistaken about the shaft?

Nope they, and (I think) the XV920 were chain, all the other XVs were shafties. I've seen a couple in a featherbed frame. Also seen one in a BSA.
Steve, no that was up at Rutland Water back near home in the Fens.
