Hello from the Emerald Isle!....BONZOID here, long time one-lunger fan, former XT 500 & SRX 600 owner. Currently riding an MT-03. Looking forward to chatting to you all. :)

Wahay! Another MT-03 rider; that makes 3 of us in this illustrious bike club.
Now, onto the important questions that need to be settled before we progress any further:
1. Do you own a land rover
2. Do you have a fetish for camping stoves
3. Who is your favourite weather girl?
All these are hot topics on this forum...though sometimes, we talk about bikes as well!
-
1. Idon,t have a Land Rover but I,ve got an FZR 600R & a YZF 750R! 2. No, In fact the last time I tried to use one (many moons ago), it exploded! 3. Don,t have a favourite weather girl but I,d love to share an umbrella (and more...) with that Kirstie Allsop..... ;D

Fellow Singletons
I'm ready, if you'll pardon the expression, to get my Black Ball out. No Land Rover, no collection of antique camping stoves, and to top it off the fella wants to go out in the rain with this old trout:

Sorry but I for one feel that this is lowering the already pitiful entrance criteria of the club.
On the otherhand he does actually own a single cylinder motorbike and that must count for something? Welcome aboard.........

Boyd, I think you make a very valid point although I do wish you would leave that poor withered little black 'un where is isn't likely to offend.
So Bonzoid young man, have you got a petrol camp stove? Do you have a mate who could lend you one...Pat got under the wire but apart from naturally (beer/stout) occurring Gas is strictly infradig..

I'm proud. I dont have a petrol stove and I am a member of this club! Hahaha. I use some dodgy gas powered thing when necessary, though my last forays into the wilderness have involved pukka camp fires and living off the land.

I can't lose it if I'm wearing it. Although it does smell funny!

Is this a euphamism for the scaffolding company, which supplies Kirstie's support garments? ??? ???
Toodle pip, Bill.

Looks like I got back on line just in time to defend (not that we need it) the smarter sider of this club. By that I mean the 'modernists' or as we are sometimes referred too as 'Them that cook on Gas'. Welcome matey, and if we should meet at a camp sometime and you need a brew in a hurry, head my way. 8)

I too never met the entrance requirements......but
I do have 3 pukka tilley lamps
I do share a 20 year old Toyota Hi-Lux pickup with #1 son
and I do lust after that wonderful thinking mans science person Dr Alice Roberts (who once displayed her reproductive organs on prime time tv, well an Xray)
And i do have 3....or is it 4, thumpers
So I'm making an effort

DAMN! Just as I sold mt MT-03, you guys all turn up!
Great bikes, but REALLY uncomfy (I'm very skinny tho...no padding at all). Finally got rid to make room for my Dad's XBR as he retires from kickstart bikes (he still has an electric start 250), but will miss the cycle-like handling and nippiness, and the sound.
Ahem, still got bits for sale (see that section).
And as for owning an MT in Ireland....what about the rust? It's typical Yamaha!

It,s become apparent to me that the phrase "build quality" does not does not have an Italian language equivalent! Faded plastics, rusty disc bolts, paint peeling from the frame, etc. My FZR has lasted better & it,s sixteen years old! :o >:(

Welcome.... but we are not all muddy perverts ;) ;D
For off-roading I own a modified Suzuki Samurai. Used LandRovers in the mud for many years at work... Swore to never sit in one or TirFor one out of the sh¡t again . (good eh, spanish upturned "!")
And a chinese 650cc buggy with a Mitsubishi clone engine (good design but the alloys seem to be part cream-cheese and the clearances are measured with a worn ruler) ::)
Gave up primus stoves and tilley lamps as soon as I could afford a nice pub room for the night 8)
(its all to do with age, arthritis and getting soft).
Build quality? Try a Catalan-built Honda 644, SLR or Vigor (No Primer. No Torque wrench. No assembly grease.) I live in Andalucia, we don't call the Catalans "Spanish".
As for weather wimmin... how about the one from Midlands TV with the sticky-up spiked hair? (I prefer skinny women :-* )
But thumpers rule forever and size DOES matter ;)
