Got a rather tasty looking pigeon floating sunny side up in one of my water butts in the garden. There is some meat left on it as the fly maggots that are eating it are having problems staying alive themselves as they cannot swim!!
Only found it today as I was on my way to the compost bins and wondered what that very strange smell was that so delicately tickled my olfactory organ. Investigation revealed my deceased visitor. Oh joy, 140 litres of putrid water and a lump of dodgy carrion.
So, any takers for my tasty bird? I'll throw in the maggots and the juice for free.... ::)

Aye Hackers, (again!)
Bury it in the compost heap and use the water to irrigate the veg, no worries. We used to put the dead chooks in the compost and make up a chook and sheep dropping liquid feed from a rubby dubby bag in a barrel of water. Touch of seaweed and all well stirred. The pong was strong but the veggie and flowers loved it.
Sadly, not keeping chooks these days! :(

Tipped the water butt over onto the grass to get the old bird out as I could no longer stand the smell. Bad move, smell quadrupled so I ran for cover indoors before the neighbours noticed. Today though, the bird has gone so I guess a passing fox has mistaken it for a small child :o :o

Aye Hackers,
You'll grow silage now and be asking the Welsh contingent to send you a flock of their 'damsels' ;D to keep it under control every time it rains in the Serrengeti of the Sarf East! ::)
Toodle pip, Bill.
