You know those days when things are just…*good*?!
I don’t normally have it, but this morning, I fired up the DR for the first time in about 5 months. Last night I started stripping the scorpion for its annual/ bi-annual service, so had to press the DR into action. I had previously just done the same thing to it a few months back and laid it up.
Riding into work today I felt really good. You know when you stop at the lights, and you can smell
-hot oil
-WD40 burning off the pipe
-fibreglass packing from the can
-hot plastic (!)
I dont know why, but it just made me feel really happy (maybe just cos the bike was working, but also maybe cos it reminded me quite strongly of either racing, or just the feeling of a newly rebuilt project/motor/etc). Or maybe it was just getting re-acquainted with the old bike after a bit of time on the scorpion.
Anyway, I shall now take my joy elsewhere!
Hope all are similarly happy,
a
ps. I was less happy about the awful front brake. Skorp= 1 finger on the front brake. Really. DR= 4 fingers and 1 foot every time in order to stop. It does somewhat moderate one’s riding style!

Know how you feel Andy. Dragged the Rs out today after using the XS and Bonnie for the last couple of months. Poor chap still had the winters road crud and last application of WD all over it. Smelt great and went like a dream. Soon the pair of us were RSing about in fine style!!!
Woohoo!!

Take it to Grahame, you know how happy he is. I took the Guzzi to town to get some keys cut for the tank cap cover. Bloody brilliant I too was happy, I was able to ride right to the place...Cardiff is growing on me. Then I pleasant couple of hours with Rob, Jethro and GC at the plough there was some heavy metal parked on the pavement..I was happy again. Then I came back here and hung out with colleagues for an hour...well enough said. Ecclesially I had a crap day - but I am grateful to the TC boys for making it bearable.
