Title: Wot I did on my Holidays by Andrew age 36 3/4
Post by: Andy M on February 18, 2010, 02:26:30 PM
Finally put something up about the elefant trip if anyone fancies a short read:

There could be a prize going for anyone who can guess why the starter motor didn't work BEFORE flicking to the tech & faults forum for the answer  ;D

And then I went home (via the pub and the kebab shop  ;D)

Great stuff, can I link to it from my Dragonrally site?

What's the next challenge Andy? I see that the Primus Rally (http://www.mc-addict.com/primusrally2009.htm) is held quite near Oslo (so therefore reasonably easy to get to from the UK), surely that's high on your 'to-do' list?

p.s. Just been reading your account... Triumph coils appear to be a bag o' shite  ::)

No fear. Warm places for Andy from now on  :o

I think I said that in about '05 or '08 too  ;D

The coil isn't a bad item, it's the loom that was knitted by Grandma's from breakfast cereal that's less good.

I wouldn't be too sure about the coil, Jethros let him down too.

It was Jethro that told me how to seal it! The Mk II sealed version will be totally sealed and connected via IP68's.

I say it's not a bad item as the two I carried across Germany worked when totally soaked a ****ed up. Once I found the loose connectors it's fired up every time including bump starts with a duff battery.

It is of course mounted in the most stupid place short of on the sump alongside the starter motor!
