Title: Coming to Cardiff
Post by: Richard on September 23, 2009, 01:23:40 PM

I am going to be spending a week in Cardiff, at the Heath, from thjis Friday but will need some time off at some point.

Any chance of a meet up at a pub sometime with any of the Thumperista ?

Next Friday or Saturday would be good as it will be sufficiently after Rowans operation.

Anybody up for it drop me a PM.

Richard

Richard

Excuse my ignorance and failing brain cells.  Was it you a while back loking for a laptop for your boy in hospital?  If so did you have any luck?

Is Rowan your boy?

Of course it could be a completely different person etc, in which case I apologise

I live in close proximity to Heath Hospital so if we can help out in any way with your stay then let me know.

As for a night out, can I offer to cook up a storm for all who are interested prior to a good session in my local pub? Saturday would be better for me, I've provisionally booked Friday night in Theale with Simon Morgan (crikey, I appear to have a social life!).

Rog,

I was in the market for a PC for him but in the end managed to build one rather better than we could have bought.  The laptop was his idea but he has sensibly decided to defer this until he goes to College in about 3 years.

1 to 1 1/2 weeks in hospital and then home and several months home tutoring until he is well enough to go back to school.

Regards,

Richard

Incidentally Rob has been in touch and I now have a few phone numbers - so will get in touch when I'm down there.

Beers are necessary at some point.  And of course Mr Edwards is now in Caaaaardiff too.

If I can figure out where it is I plan on being in The Plough in Cardiff on Saturday evening from about 8 if possible.

Who is up for it ?

Steffan called round to see us last night, a most welcome break.

Hi Richard,

Sorry I wont be around on Saturday evening, we are both in Dorset for the VOC Bob Foster run on Sunday morning, it would have been good to meet again.

Wot Lynd wears 'shift and apron' have not heard that phrase since the last time I listened to Fairport. And does she know you determine whether to go out or not by whether she is wearing a shift?

I sounded out BJ and he's planning on being there too. Do you want to call into Carrick towers on your way or shall we meet you there? (I live a couple of minutes walk from the pub, I'll PM my address in case you need it)

Jethro

If you're stuck for a bunk you can stay at Carrick towers... but I'll give the maids the night off this time, we don't want any more 'accidents' in the upper corridors again do we.

Nice to hear it was a good evening - I was contemplating coming over but did not finish till gone 9 so 35 miles for a pint and "Home James" lost out to a pint of cider in front of the telly.

Hope all is going well with your boy
