Now now Rog, James would be most disappointed that you forgot to put the stick forward and regain flying speed before pulling out!  :o (always remember that your chances of survival are inversely proportional to your angle of arrival  ;D )
Full opposite rudder, stick central, wait for the rotation to stop, ensure adequate airspeed then pull out geeeeeennnnnntly (whilst avoiding overspeed) most exciting  8)

Broadly equivalent to: post questions on interenet forums, tidy workshop, make list of jobs to do, (make cuppa and make list of smaller jobs to do using info from forum answers), re-start work.....

Oh yeah, and ignore the idiots on the internet!!!

Wilks in his SE5a, went off to train the Bolivian airforce, or was it Peruvian after the war?

Algernon Montgomery Lacey, was Biggles cousin, flew on is Left was it with The Professor amongs others on the right, bad place to be, you knew they would go west, cos neither Biggles nor Algy were. Mind Biggles was shot down behind the lines, on 11/11/1918, at 11:20

Damn I must get a bit more often

Small spherical things, would they be flaming, thus Buckingham?  Or are they bigger and hence flaming onions?

Relax Ian. I'm sure if anyone has any parts they will be in touch. Thread drift is normal on here, at least it keeps your request at the top of the forum! :)

There is group site for SRX 400 on Yahoo, but although it looks inactive, you mabe able to contact one of the old members and ask if they know anything about it. Worth a try, hey?

I think the 400 is effectively identical to the 600, maybe easier to go from that angle?

never had a monoshock tho, so cant say for sure.  On twinshocks, the only difference is the motor, and even then its externally identical.

Anyway:

Is it parts you want, or a parts list..??

I think the problem is that there just arent that many about!

Thanks Andy for the input...Im only looking for a parts list as I feel you can get a lot of info just from the PL alone. I hsave got the engine in the frame but need to weld some brackets on the downtubes to support the "banana" shaped oil tank. Also the clutch cable needs rerouting and of course there is the dreaded offset difference between twin shock and monoshock final drives. I think I have learnt a lot just by mating up the engine with the frame. I will keep all informed just in case another nutter feels like doing the same

Hi Iain

You may struggle slightly with the 400 PL as they were never imported here (I think actually never out of Japan), so any literature available may only be in Japanese!

Anyway, good luck.

You will have seen:

www.srx600.net

and

www.srx400.co.uk

Some good technical info there, but mostly for the 600....

cheers!

See, told you  ;)
Nah, seriously, good luck with the project, you'll get used to the randomness on here!  :o

Is it randomness or chaos, or emergence? I suppose it could be god, but that is more fanciful than me ever getting a bike working.

I have the genuine Yamaha workshop manual for SRX400 3VN and SRX600 3SX

and

its written in

Japanese! Hoi!

Never managed to convince a shop to buy a parts list or microfiche even when I offered to pay for it.  :'(  I have compiled a very short list of consumables part numbers, but its on my desktop machine rather than this laptop. I'll post it next time the desktop gets powered up, but I wouldn't get too excited.

My wife works for a Japanese company....hmmm maybe I could ask one of the Japs to translate it  ;)

I already have a parts list for the SRX 600(off the website) and for the SRX400 2NY and 3HU1 models. Im just looking for parts off the monoshock models that will or could me used/modified when the transplant goes ahead. Thanks for all the input so far.

Ian

PS Stafford show is coming up and its just down the road so perhaps I may find something there.
