The Comet was a nice bike (wish I had one!)
I remember reading about one made into a drag racer (Mighty Mouse?) that went over to America and kicked the a*se of the big Harley racers of the time!!! ;D

Note the set up across the top of the fork legs. I guess it must have shoes each side of the hub and this is to balance the pull out equally.

the vincents had a sls drum brake on each side of both front and back wheels, 4 drum brakes in total.
the more you look at them the better they are. the rear wheel can be removed within 60 seconds with no tools, the front is the same. you can even remove both wheels at the same time leaving it on the stands (3 of them!).
the rear hub allows a sprocket each side, so when touring you can just turn the wheel around when you reach the mountains and leave the dual carriageway. brilliant!

Just read the article. That wheelie picture is a bit mad.
I do like the Vincati the same blokes built.

The wheelie pic is a fat bloke behind the rear wheel spindle - the bike has not bee started and the Mag is defunct
