Here's my new toy:
It's luuuurvely :-*
I'm the third owner and I know the first two owners. The last one being my mate Mike who runs a car repair business, this was their runabout van.
I know it's daft, but I'm stupidly pleased with it. It knocks spots off my previous van, a Ford Escort 1.8 diesel. The nice thing is, I bought this one for only £50 more than I sold the Escort for.
If any club members need anything shifting in the South Wales area (including bikes) then I can help out for the cost of the diesel and a little contribution to the biscuit fund.
Cheers

Aye GC,
I like the 'Santa' suit draped across the drivers seat! 8) You'll need these for the reflection off the bonnet. 8) 8) 8)
On reflection, it could almost be a 'Postman Pat' job!
Toodle pip, Bill.

Stop me and buy one springs to mind .
If Noddy had a van it would probably look like this one ;D

Somebody saw you coming :D

More fireman Sam I thought ;)
Looks like a tidy van. Hope it's good for you :)
Btw, did you ever post me the Emma Peel suit? :D

Sorry Snudge, been having an 'away from club and bikey stuff' couple of weeks. Will post it tomorrow.
The van is bloody ace for my work, it easily takes 8x4 platerboard sheets and with a sliding door each side it's easy to get at all your gear. The only downside is the lack of roofbars so I'll have to throw some money at that.
Whilst I'm talking about purchases, someone has offered me a 'Wolf' 2-stroke generator (1000W output) for £80. It's very clean and (apprarently) little-used. Is £80 a good price?

Very nice matey and just what the doctor ordered for your chosen careet too. ;)
(Bloody handy having a mate with a van close by too!)

Haha. Just reread this thread and realise you are talking about the red van! For some strange reason I thought you had bought that rather nice high top red campervan....
-
Exactly how much beer can it carry? :D
-
2 pints more than GC can...

I started stripping off the chequered panels today. Everybody who has seen the van has said "Oi Fireman Sam!".
For the next summer rally I might consider chucking the bike in the back and driving to the event. I've got my rally mileage spurs and trudging up motorways to get to some good riding is a waste of my time and tyre rubber. Being able to arrive in a vehicle I can also sleep and cook in must be a bonus. If another TCer came along then it would make good ecomonic sense too, one lot of van diesel being much cheaper than two lots of bike petrol. The other advantage is that I could bring along a fabulously silly motorcycle ;)
The other good thing is that, if I wanted to, I can now consider building up a track day XBR from all my spares, without having to worry about all that tiresome legal nonsense. If only all my leather suits hadn't shrunk over the last few years ::)

I wouldn't mind betting that comment was never mentioned to Mrs GC during the van purchase negotiations! ;) ;D
