Post by: guest18 on May 17, 2009, 04:22:24 PM
Well Transalp John has finally seen sense and bought himself a DR  ;D
So we have another Thumper owner amongst the loonies  ;)

and just to prove how daft he is here he is keeping me company while I sat out almost an hours worth of decompression the other day  :o ::)

My wife has been badgering me to do my PADI as she's had a couple of biology field trips (she's a teacher) out to Malaysia where she did her advanced open water.

I've done the taster, which I enjoyed, just need to make time for the course now.

Cool, well John is the PADI expert (as well as BSAC) and I am more BSAC biased but we're both happy to drink beer and chat diving if you want more info or advice about how / where to learn over here ;)

If we get that borders run sorted out we can have a chat about it then. I did the taster with Deep Blue Scuba in Edinburgh, who seemed fine.

np will do.
An *excellent* site for Scottish diving info is here: http://www.congeralley.com/index.php
There are divers from all agencies and the information is comprehensive and the chat normally good natured!
Incidentally the website is named after a famous Scottish dive site which I despise lol  ::)

Hi everyone

as smudge has said already after years of living in the darkness and riding a really quiet, comfortable and smooth V-twin, i have finally turned to the light and got myself an old (E reg) DR600. what started with throwing my disgusting old bike to the ground in a simple corner at a thumper club rally 5 years ago has finally been completed. i feel whole finally.!!! and I'll be sending my money to join in the next few weeks :o)

also as happy as smudge to sit with beer and talk crap about bikes, diving, general army/ambulance rubbish or even landrovers

John (formerly transalp john)

(looks around cautiously...) nope, I don't see anyone with a plastic tube strapped to their head, I guess you're probably safe here...  ;) ;D

So I'm guessing BSAC is British Star trek Appreciation Club?

May the Force be with you  ;D

Live long and prosper my friend  ;)

Funnily enough it *is* an alien environment, sometimes even where no man has gone before...  ;D

Inner space, it's the business  8)

Aha! he fell right into the trap! I'm guessing Andy used the Star Wars line to draw out the true trekkies who wouldn't be able to sleep at night unless they corrected his 'mistake'.

So, in conclusion, I think it must be the British Star Trek Appreciation Club!  ;)

Found out  ;D

It worked for that bloke who looked like Gert Frobe in the Great Escape. I guess that makes GC Richard Attenborough rather than Gordon Jackson  ;D

Dear Marigold ,

Have you considered a pair of Gortex overtrousers { two sizes too small ,obviously  8) },for that year round feeling of cling .I am concerned with you wearing shorts during inclement weather and feel that long tight Gortex will provide the reassurance that we all crave .

Rub .

Put them on your legs then rather than over your head.

On second thoughts....
