Title: Motorcycle trailer
Post by: guest146 on March 06, 2009, 09:10:07 PM
I am going to build a 3 bike trailer and although I could manage I wonder if anyone has any plans for making one. I remember the old towsure catalogs had several of these plans in but thy no longer include them. Anyone got any plans or an old catalog that could be returned.

Thanks Ken

Hi Ken,

Have you seen This ?  Trailer (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-motorcycles-galvanised-trailer_W0QQitemZ300297440410QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item300297440410&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318l=)

Or this Trailer (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Motorcycle-trailer_W0QQitemZ130290870349QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item130290870349&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318=)

Might be cheaper than making one.

Thanks Steve

I already have the indespension units and towing hitch bought at a good price. I have wheels, I can get metal almost free and painted free so may as well make one just the way I want it.

Thanks anyway.

Steve have you thought about any of the meets this year.

Talking of trailers, I no longer have room to store my 1 bike* trailer so it has to go, £30 to a club member if they can collect it quickly.

It's a bit tatty and wouldn't be suitable for heavy bikes (although I have had VX800 and a 650 Dragstar on it - at different times of course). I have a spare wheel for it, although one of the wheels loses air. That wheel was fitted to my sidecar for the trip to the Dragon and needed to be pumped up in North Wales before making the return trip - it had dropped to about 12psi from 27psi in two days.

It has a lightboard, but in common with most trailers this can best be described as temperamental
and could do with a look at the connections.

You can contact me via the 'personal message' link at the left of this post or ring me on 07866 525054

Cheers
GC

* The trailer has a removable steel grid that converts it to carry two lightweight bikes. It used to carry a pair of scramblers in this mode.
