Started well, on satruday I had a good runaround buying bits for a new boiler (I have no hot water on tap at the minute) and then I returned home to watch Powell and Pressburger's classic 'Colenel Blimp'.
On Saturday evening my wife and I had a rare chance to go out in the company of other adults without our kids. Added to the fun was seeing my mother sozzled by the end of the evening (it was a family party).
Sunday was spent looking after my little angels. Pat rang me up with a career-best offer of some free materials and we had a good natter.
At around 8.30pm I got a call out of the blue from Jethro, saying that he would knock my door as he and RobG passed on the way to the pub. I had started feeling the effects of a cold by then, but I managed a few beers ::)
This morning I woke to a full-blown cold and I had to return to bed once the kids had departed for school. I only managed three hours work today :( You PAYE types should count your blessings with your sickpay and whatnot.
Still feel bad now, but two days off work is more than I can afford.

A bit Different here. Debbie and I took the Honda Scoot for a run with a few thousand other like minded souls on the Perth Charity Run. It Started off pleasant ly and we had a bit of a social with some mates and other club branch members, having some sushi to share from the nite before. The run through the "POLY PIPE" which is a short tunnel about 1.6 km long was an ear shattering rumble, fantastic!
The journey covers abouty 30km along a freeway to a place called Joondalup, where we all gather on the local sports ground, You can view it on Google. By the time we left to go home we had a nice shade of pink on our faces.. in less than an hour.
The run home was uneventful so I wont go into that. I finished the day going to work . Sunday I rested up to go to work as well.
I just dont get out and about much anymore on weekends.

Hope you're feeling better mate. If you like your wartime films, find a blank tape/DVD, "Went the day well" is on during the week (Wednesday Channel 4). For those who don't know it, it's the original for "The Eagle has landed", German paratroops land in disguise in an English village. As it was made in 1942 it's obviously rather authentic on the details and surprisingly not that one sided.
Weekend here was mostly house type jobs, a trip to a very good Italian eatery and the odd moment trying to sort my long range fuel system.

I managed to fall off the XT on ice. No injuries and minimal damage but what hurt was the way the first two old ladies drove around me in the road !

Richard i have one word to say to you,.................................................. SIDECAR ;D

Yeah, that way you could have taken the two old ladies out and only come off when you went over the bars.

Two rounds of bad luck going out. 1 to GC for his nasty dose of man flu and another to Richard who's "Going for the sympathy by falling off my bike" trick still failed to produce a 'pull' from the best West Wales can offer in crumpet. ;D
As for my weekend, very dull I'm afraid :'( The highlights include teaching my youngest how to fix a puncture on his bike and testing out my 'bucket BBQ', which worked a treat ;D
Bikey things were restricted to a shed tidy (hence the call to GC), replacing the exhaust clamps on Dolly and discovering the old girl has chewed up another chain >:( I really must get a shaft drive. Heyho.

Saturday was very expensive, Me and me bird had our eyes tested, and I splashed out on 2 new pairs of glasses at specsavers and that's 130 quid gone. Me bird needs specs for the first time, so that's another 100 squid gone. So, to commiserate we went to the cafe and had a slap up meal of bacon and eggs with the twin daughters (other 2 out doing their own things)!
Sunday was nice, all the family at home putting up Christmas decos etc, eating, watching TV. Contemplated collecting some more spuds from the garden, but too cold & wet to even try.
All still recovering from that stinky cold thing that seems to be affecting everyone. I blame it on the awful rehash of Survivors showing on BBC at present.

A brilliant film , Andy .I am addicted to these wartime films .Another personal favourites are 'The Way To the Stars ' along with 'San Demitrio,London '.The later tells the story of a tanker torpedoed but doesn't sink , despite loosing the bow, completly . It's then sailed home by a skeleton crew.
A perfect afternoon , pot of tea , teacakes , Union Jack and an old wartime black and white , FANTASTIC !

Hot Sweet tea: It's killed thousands. They used to give it out to people in casualty assesment then wonder why they choked on the operating table.
Of course if you had a sensible number of wheel you could carry the tea urn. It's something to hide the bodies in if nothing else :P
Glad you are OK.
