Title: SRX clutch springs

Anyone know if heavy duty springs are available and from where? it appears to me that once any tuning is carried out which increases the bhp by more than a little the clutch has a job coping....it's happened on 3 bikes now and I can't think they all have bu55ered clutches

Hi Steve,

I think you can get Barnett ones.  I had them in the 620 racer- no problems (with barnett plates)

Aye SteveL,

Clean the plates with brake cleaner/Fairy and hot water. Dry thouroughly if using the latter. Change the semi-synthetic car oil for a designated semi-synthetic motorcycle oil. I was sceptical, but would appear additives maybe to blame! ;)

thanks Andy.....I'll give Martin a ring.....although I have now got some on order via my local bike person (he used to with Gary Cottrell at Denver motorcycles) who is pretty up with SRX's.....listed as Heavy Duty springs for SRX/XT from EBC.
Thanks Bill, I use exclusively motorcycle oil for that reason....however....you never know what was in use prior to my ownership. So I will give'em a good clean when I fit the new springs.

funny thing is......the slip almost diappears once the engine is hot, say after 10 miles or so
