Yep, welcome to the asylum.  ;D

You'll love it! It is like a big family gathering.

There are few oddballs with dubious fetishes that you'll need to watch out for  ;)

Things like three wheelers  :P,  Strokers, yes I am afraid so, there are smoking strokers amongst us 8) You have been warned!

Probably the ones you really need to watch are the volvo types, there is one here who combines this sort of degenerate behaviour with a taste for old camp stokes... be afraid be very afraid!

Welcome to our bunch of misfits, I have an '88DR BIG modified to look like a late model DR 650, a '95 DR800 wearing '88 clothes and a '98 DR 800S not far from original and I am building a BSA Starfire lookalike based on a '90 DR 800.

Welcome to the nut house. Nice to have another northerner along even if you are from over the border  ;)

I've often thought we should perhaps change the club name. The Single cylinder-BMW airhead- Multi cylinder -Two stroke-camping stove- Landrover - Sidecar - Scuba - Morse code - Radio 2 & 4 appreciation - article in the Guardian - interesting book - Volvo Club doesn't have much of a ring to it though. I think Confused dot Com is already taken.  :-\

Hello John

I'm not even sure if I'm still a member, it must be about time I paid my dues. Worth every penny though. They're a right helpful bunch of chaps here and there's always an interesting thread or two on the forum. The Joke section's a bit ropey, mind. :)

dont suppose youve a spare rear shocker that you'd be willing to sell me then? mines absolutely kippered, and im not in the position to be able to spend as much as the bike cost me again on a rear shock. the mot is due this week, but it wont pass as it is!! i assume that the 800 shock will fit the 750?

Hi John, Unfortunately I don't have any parts for sale, I need the parts I've collected. The early 750/800 shock is the same, with a white spring, whilst the later '800 are the same dimensions, with heavier damping and a black spring ( I think the spring rate is the same). Try German Ebay for parts, I get most of my parts from there and the postage is cheap compared to here.
        Good luck

Hi, I've got a spare shock that came with  an '89 DR750 that I bought a while back. Need to clear some of the excess of stuff in the garage anyway. How does £10 plus postage sound? The rest of the bike minus engine and a few bits and bobs are up for grabs as well.
Cheers Jez

but have you not thought, it may have been an elaborate double bluff on my behalf to get into the club by seeming to need help, and knowing you wouldnt be able to resist trying to get me in so you could the show your true colours. (!!!!!) now im in, i may start to extract my revenge on you all, or stage a coup on my way towards total world domination? (note to self, nexyt time when planning for world domination, by pass thumper club and instead try the un, its got more, and its offices are nicer and the vending machines are well stocked)

perhaps i should have taken the red pill?

Based on Johns cunning and devious, if flawed plan, I think he'll fit in well here, welcome.  8)
