I don't know what's going on with my knees but they, especially the left one one are really giving me gip. So much so that riding my CS proving painful after only a short distance and when I stop for a stretch I really suffer at times. So I am on the lookout for something more comfortable yet practical. I don't know what to do yet, I have thought about buying a tourer but I don't really want anything too big like 1000cc. So, dear friends I might,(only "might" mind) go over to the dark side and get something like a Honda SilverWing or simila that will allow me to have a feet forward riding position.
What d'ya think?

A lot of us over here down under are changing to big bore scoots. You can even still have a thumping big 500 single with the T Max Yammy. Unfortunately it is too tall for me so I would have to settle for the Silverwing which fits like a glove. Until SWMBO ok's it, I will have to make do with the MuZ and the v moto 125.
The 650 Burgers "with the lot" are very popular with our mob. Its hard not to like the idea of auto cruising over long distances at relatively high speed. The drawback with the Burgers is the big bum on them, pillions with shorter legs cant tuck in enough to reach the footboards. The large turning circles of the maxi scooters as commuters makes them difficult to handle in congested traffic The big buzz at the moment is the 400 MP3
When there are more of them on the road we will get a better idea of value and if they are just a gimmick or not.

Thanks for that Kurt. As I said it is just something I am pondering at the moment, my finances aren't too brilliant either. My commute to Gatwick Airport doesn't involve much in the way of tricky traffic negotiation, it is mainly dual-carriageway or M-Way so a big T-Max is another option. I don't often, if at all, carry a pillion as my other half won't get on a bike. A pal has a SiverWing and he really rates it, and I must admit I do think it's a lovely scoot.

HMMM I wonder how many will realise the T max is a twin 500, I meant the 400 Majesty

my dr is a very feet forward riding position, its electric start too, only problem i can see is that its so flippin high!!
-
Yes seat height is an issue with me too Johnr, I'd never be able to handle a DR or, heaven forbid, something like a KTM. Still pondering my options.

Bill, would it be posible to rig up some kind of highway peg arrangement to your bike? That would let you stretch your legs out whilst riding along.
-
Actually Dave I hadn't thought of a highway peg arrangement - more food for thought. Although that would really give Messrs Dalby and Hilliard some ammunition ::)

before you decide, I found out that little 12inch wheels dont actually steer across spilt deisel on wet roads tonite... ouch.... or any other nite for that matter. (I added that in case there are any smart a&*es waiting for a slip up ...ooops did it again!)
