I don't know how it happens, but once the nights get longer I start working on my house.
Last weekend I spent a day demolishing an aviary that has been an eyesore in my garden since I moved in. Then I emptied and took down my large plastic shed (yes the same one from our Stafford show).
On Sunday I laid a concrete pad for my son's playgroup and on sunday evening I emptied the contents of my office into the next bedroom (more space to see what's there) and every night since I have been working my way through six years of clutter.
More scarily, last week I degreased and cleaned the XBR outfit :o
Do any of you get the spring-clean urge too?
It's not all been virtuous work here though, yesterday I bought a CG125 for £65. Wifey was, as you'd expect. delighted ::)
On an unrelated note, I spoke to one of our ex members the other day, the much missed Simon Birch. He has a streetfighter CBR600 (amongst many other bikes) and he was always a little concerned about how badly it ran. All was revealed when he popped off an engine cover and found that the end of the crank is bent and so not only does the ignition pickup get some interesting signals, the cam chain cannot be accurately tensioned... which led on to a graphic description of what the previous bodgers had done to the cam chain tensioner. As any of you who know Simon will not be surprised to hear, he'd been riding it for ages like that ;) Anyway, he passes on his best wishes.
And, before I go, aren't there a lot of bikes on the road all of a sudden?

Yes, I've noticed that too. Lost my parking space at work today to a very shiney plastic rocket ship. Bet the owner's got matching helmet & leathers ;D
See loads of bikes on the commute nowadays, and most have tinted visors, matching leathers, shiney bikes and are wayyyyy too important to wave a greeting. Heyho, as long as it keeps them happy ;D

I don't think the butterfly season has started out here yet but then I tend not to notice them unless I am in my car ;-)

I can report there are lots more scoots out the roads here in London now. Blasted things.
As regards DIY, living in a small flat full of 4 daughters its a constant battle to keep it all together and not burst open at the seams. The little ones grubby hands seem to making some nice paterns on the wall paper at strategic points near the doors.
