Title: srx 600 twin shocks
Post by: nipper32 on March 03, 2008, 06:16:18 PM
i,ve got the chance of a pair of ohlins twin shocks for my srx 6. eye to eye they measure 325mm . i know that normal srx shocks are 300mm eye to eye .
will the extra 25mm make any major running problems for my bike. if they're no good whats the next best shocks you can buy?

Make the steering quicker and could be twitchy in a straight line or when drafting 40 tonners! ;D

They'll be good shocks, but pricey to rebuild, if need be. Strip spings and ensure damper still damps and no leaks afore purchase if you can.

Koni 'Dial-a-Rides' are fine and rebuildable, again its the rebuild costs that make you wince. But mine lasted well and very compliant yet controlled. Only used 1 up, no pillion.

I'm sure you'll get comments from others soon.

Regards, Bill.

Go for it.....they look the dogs! and work really well.......the guys at Denver Motorcycles (sadly demised) used them......and they knew their srx's

and rebuilding costs might be high....but the standard units can't be rebuilt.....so you HAVE to buy new ones
