As much as Steve might deride my fascination with camping kit, the one interesting thing (obvious to the sharp-eyed) is that this was one of the first occasions I used the pan set from my Lidl Trangia copy.
Of course I knew I could never fool any of you lot into believing that it was a real Trangia pan set, not with the photographic evidence and all that.
Also of note is the fact that this was about the last time I used my venerable Saunders tent (a Jet Packer, as you can see).
Yes, you're quite right, that is a Vango 2-season sleeping bag and you can just see my Thermarest mattress poking out from under it.
Oh yes, I could go on for hours ;)

But it's being a camping bore that lets you sort out the good gear from the rubbish and be comfortable when it gets waaaaay below freezing and you only have a limited amount of gear ;)
Mmmm thermarest, one of the best bits of camping gear I've ever bought! ;D

When I bought my Thermarest the bloke in the shop said, "this is the difference between being able to sleep and not" and he was right. Last Friday's sojourn in a bivvi bag was astoundly comfortable with just my Thermarest between me and the frozen ground.
Mine is always stored opened out and lightly inflated and I reckon that's helped it last.

Best bit of kit I bought recently is a muslin bag with a drawstring, stuff my sleeka into it and it is a perfect pillow. Pillow = sleep. Cost next to nothing and is non-slip too

Sleeka jacket, now there is another bit of kit that's worth the money! ;D on my second now in only ten years... still using the first mind you, but it is falling apart ;D

2 season sleeping bag? trouble with these is....it's never the right 2 seasons!

I still think my interpretation is closer to the mark! ;D
