Tsk, always showing off trying to do things the posh way! What's wrong with black nasty? Or even a bit of bailer twine round it to keep everything together??  ;) ;D

Was that because 60's gum and Araldite shared many ingredients? There again, my mum used to feed me biscuits that were just e-numbers, MSG and modified starch (some were the same colour as the TC logo!) and I turned out OK  ???

actually, that looks like a sort of Lumiweld stuff. I've got some [different brand] that claims to be stronger than the parent metal, and the repair looks like that. It would have to have been done in a furnace, though.
