Title: New valves
Post by: andy230 on February 03, 2008, 11:53:43 AM
So I got my new Yamaha valves, but we're not out the woods yet.

What is the opinion on what I propose??  Of use, or simply academic?

Thanks guys.  IF you're interested, R&D Springs are on their way from the US.

Can I build this in 2 weeks (when the Big Man) is coming down with the chassis???  We'll see!

well mate....all i know (which is very little I admit..)is, that when my head came back from 'The cylinder Head Shop' the ports looked lovely, the guides were profiled off to blend with the ports, and the valves looked very similar to your originals...and the actual seating area was a thin pencil line round the valve and the valve seat had been sort of rounded, with a matching thin seating line...the valves, as far as I'm aware, are standard Yam.

Come on Son...get a grip...you'll miss the start!! ;D

Andy, if it were me I would concentrate on getting a reliable engine back together and put the extra effort into getting the engine in the chassis, giving you more time to set it up right for you. A couple of bhp will make sod all difference if it rides like a donkey.
