Title: An early weekend debrief
Post by: guest24 on January 06, 2008, 02:14:33 PM
I am in the middle of painting the bedroom at the moment and listening to Led Zep, The Cramps and now some Queen. In case you are wondering, I am between coats so thought I would have a quick surf.

Its amazing how much stuff you have to move just to get at the walls. The bed is covered with all the stuff off the shelves - eBay items, books, computer CDs and dust... Oops.

ho hum. The twins want cBeebies on as they have finished being princesses and killing each other! So I will go and do that and put the kettle on a well.

Who else stores dust on their shelves? Or is it just me?

I had a rare thing today,a day to myself to wave spanners about.First job was to solder onto my DIY heated vest a length of curly cable in an effort to tidy it up a bit.
Next was the valve clearances on the VFR.After all the previous owner gave me an invoice saying they were done about 5000 miles ago,so it should only be a quick check.Six of them are tight, four being the inlets on the front cylinders which are an arse to get at.So it's cams out then buckets and shims to work out what sizes I need.
Does anyone have an assortment of 7.48mm diameter valve shims lying about that they would exchange for my surplus ones?
At least my XT only had four valves and only needed two shims last time I did it :-)

Hi

If you are collecting dust I have plenty on the shelves here for you - and cobwebs to hold it together with too

Saw the Cramps live once... came out bloodied, with my T-shirt in tatters and a huge grin on my face. Part of me misses what the yongsters call the mosh pit.
