Title: xl 500 r cylinder head

hi , does anyone know if the cylinder head from a 1981 xl500s fits a 1982 xl500r ? any mods needed at all (decompressor) ??? ??? ???

If it helps I'm pretty sure it would, as I recall the earlier head gasket is superseded by the later one so ought to fit okay, just might take a little messing to get everything to work properly.
