I reckon this was the first thumper club rally. That's me with the white seasocks, talking to Dave Keeling. Is that Steve Hayward behind us?
I remember the sportsbikers (left of picture) looked a little non-plussed when we turned up.

Dave's lovely SR500 is in the foreground, with Richard Black's 100,000 mile XBR behind it.

Happy New Year everyone,
Well #1, in what year was the photo taken? I remember we met at the bus depot in Abergavenny.I also remember a previous ride, where I first met you and Jethro in a pub in Tarporley and the following day we were joined by Richard and another and went up to Sheffield via The Cat & Fiddle, ending up at the Stafford Show. Adding to Steve's comment, I've lost more hair and my beard's gone grey since then, the SR was sold a couple of years ago to make space for DR not so BIG, which makes a total of three running DR's (two 800's one 750) and a retro style 800 on the way, which should make a perfect replacement for the SR500.
Long live the Thumper Club
