Title: Strange Sidecar
Post by: Bruce on December 18, 2007, 09:38:07 PM
Whilst driving around Gloucester ring road today I saw a modern bike with an odd sidecar The wheel on the sidecar was at the back and in the middle of the body The sidecar was attached to the bike with a big fitting onto the bottom of the bike frame.I only saw it briefly so I am not sure if this was a banking sidecar Any ideas anybody

Did it look like this?

If so then it's a Flexit banking sidecar.

It does this:

And talking of sidecars, my brother has just taken my Wasp chair off my hands (it was the chair fitted to my GB500). He is fitting it to his partner's lovely XBR500, seen below (partner and bike)

He is going to colour match the chair to the bike and I think it will be a good looker.

I'd love to get a go on one of these. On a smooth road I think it'll be great. On an ice covered track in the back of beyond where singles slide and chairs have to go up grass banks to let milk tankers past I'm not sure. IMHO a good alternative to a Hayabusa/low fixed chair, but not a Ural/XBR/Triumph?
