Title: Weekend debrief
Post by: guest24 on September 30, 2007, 06:56:26 PM
OMG!

Not only did I get into my garden twice I also found my bike and I got to try out my new eBay bits on it. I had bought a coil and the CDI unit to see if I could get my SRX to run. Well, 2 hours of fiddling, stealing petrol from the wifes CBR and a jump start later it burst into life!!  ;D My SRX is running! Four years it took. Oops.  :o It stopped a month before my twins were born and now it has started on the weekend of their 4th birthday party. I am so pleased.  :D

More of this earth shattering news in the project bit.

Sneaked away Saturday to the Red Squirrel campsite in Glencoe (recommended!) where swmbo and I met friends from the dive club and had a campfire and drinkies until bedtime.
Got up at a sensible time this am for coffee and toast before going to a dive site called "The Slates" in Loch Leven where I managed my first dives in over a month, and my first dive ever (very surprisingly) which lasted over an hour. SWMBO read her book  ;D
Back to campsite and cleared up before a relaxed drive back here.

Good little break  8) and I now have another campsite logged in the memory for if any of you guys come touring/visiting  ;) Glencoe I have to saw was as awe inspiring as usual. Some of the only scenery in Britain which I look at and think "whoever built that had the caps lock stuck on.."  :o ;D If you've never been there, then  GO!  ;D

Well done on that SRX!

And the diving Smudge, how productive!

I waved some spanners at the racer in prep for next weekend at Cadwell, and lubed the DR clutch cable in an attempt to stopp the clutch slipping.  It still slips when you give it "a bit of welly"   >:(

Not going into the motor to investigate till the last race is out the way.

friday saw me finally finish fitting the new exhaust system to the bullet - very tasty. Only took a week to get the correct fittings to do a half hour job.

Rest of the weekend was spent in the kitchen preparing food for a stream of guests...no diving, no riding but as a consolation I did down quite a bit of plonk

Actually managed to get out in the garage, went out to find a pen and spent the next 3 hours cutting and welding pannier frames to the DR. I now have a lop-sided DR as I only had time to fit the one to the exhaust side, need to fit the other and paint before Stafford.

Spent Saturday & Sunday up to my ears in orange and green emulsion. Now have all the boards ready for the Stafford stand. Just need to finish off the three logos - which were 'lifted' from the 2001 MonoConnection t-shirt.

Also spent a fruitless few hours trying to find my driving license, which I need to hire a van to take the above to Stafford.

Happy days........ :)

Most dogs seem to do that, but Border Wallies seem to have a surfit of character.

My best to you.

Sympathies there, worst day of my life bar none was when my Border Collie was put down  :-[
Hope she goes with no discomfort and with you close by.
