Ok it's a contender for dog of the year !
Ebay item : 150164730822
The reg is a bit of a mystery ?
Any thoughts ?

It's different! It does seem all there and an engine is worth more than what you paid for it.
It looks like a 1vj model as it has both kickstart and electric start, although the pictures arn't that clear.

Yep it's different ;D
I think it's needs a camo paint job .
If only to hide the fact I can't put my feet down..
-
Looks like £133 well spent to me. Bloody ugly though. :P
-
In the words of a well known band...
"Paint it black" :o ;)
-
You get an awful lot of oil for £133 ,it's dropped it all over the garage floor :'(
from the alternator cover.
But it has a good spark ,starter motor only just turns.
Smudge,
Would that be matt black ?
It has been painted army green ,bright yellow and blue in the past.

No1 Son says it should be bright in your face PINK

Matt Black? Never met the bloke ;)
Oh the bike? Yeah, matt black covers many sins... and it's probably the fastest way to make your new toy look bearable ;D
Mind you.. generic motocross/enduro plastics are cheap and would get it looking ok for minimal outlay?

Pink ! YUK !
No1 green with scales or black with silver scratch marks and blood splatter..
To much warhamer 40000 !!
No2 son says Blue ..
I can feel a trip to Ramco coming on ..

Used to think the Aggro estate looked like a small hearse - and was cool for that. Have a friend who was with BL when the replaced the MG with the Allegro HLE - he was just a baby in the marketing dept then and was told to shut up when he questioned the assertion that people would flock from the Midget to the HLE because it was faster, accelerated quicker. Seems they missed the point.
Should have been a hatchback and then the HLE may have competed with the Alfa-sud, well at least on who rots first?

Years ago I know a guy who ran an Allegro which burnt huge amount of oil. He had no money to fix it and it was getting expensive to keep topping it up with fresh oil so he used to scrounge evreyones old oil from their oil changes and top his car up with that.
-
My old Vauxhall Chevette (smashing car it was) never had an oil change in all the 3 years I owned it. I used about 4 gallons of oil mind you as it ran its own continuous loss system to somewhere. Didn't seem to burn it or drip so goodness knows where it went. Before you ask, I did try to change it the correct way but the whole sump started to flex and bend when I tried to undo the sump bolt and I feared a very big hole would appear suddenly. Hmm, looks like it may have been welded in or something. What do you expect for a £100 car... ;)
-
I Had a Shovette too - was great until some monkey (not me for a change) tried to adjust the carb from the top with a hammer and punch, when it should adjust from below with a bent fork - well that is what I used and is still in my tool box....

My Dad had a Wartburg, 2-stroke german thing. I think it cost him more in spark plugs than petrol. Not many of them around these days. Wonder why...

Chevette
I bought one for the misses to learn to drive in ( never did ) it was a great little car .
Also had a Larda that tore inner tubes up in 3 months.
And a Renault 5 ,that spat spark plugs out . more rust than paint..
Well that's covered some of the motortrade ,
Still no comment on the number plate ( P 1975/76 )

Oi!!
This may be a thumper forum but we don't slag off East European strokers! OK!
Steffan
PS if you set them up there is no reason for a 2T to foul its plug
