Title: small part, big price
Post by: bullet350 on August 23, 2007, 06:52:17 PM

needed a new petrol tap for my cbr600 as the old one leaked when turned off.

On, Off and Reserve with a vaccum on the back = £129.

made me laugh as well. somehow i couldn't justify it on a bike that cost me £400.

can anyone top this for a small part with a big price?

Not quite in the same league but I needed a 10 mm x 1.5 mm O ring for one of the fuel lines on my (now departed) BMW R1150R, I almost fainted when they told me it would cost £3.99!!!

I could have bought a whole box of the things from one of my work related suppliers, worse still I asked for 2 of the em! B****r  :-[

Still you live and learn.

The plastic washers that went under the fairing screws on the RD500 were weight for weight over 2X the price of 24c gold...
