I've just come in from a 160 mile + run ( Brum to Hay & back ,just for the fun of it ) and I'm covered with green fly ,moths and other dead flying things .
What do you use for keeping your visor clean while your out ?
I used to carry a wet rag , but the flies seem to stick better than they used to.

A pack of non-alchoholic baby wipes or a small kitchen sponge and paper towel in a re-sealable plastic bag with a touch of washing up liquid solution, just to dampen things.
Polishing the visor with Autoglym or Rain-Off also reduces stiction of the bits and pieces.
I have swwn cling film used or else you could go down the 'tear-off' route. Then we'd all get labelled with the litter lout tag, as power rangers distributed them on their favourite routes. Just like dog walkers with full plastic bags on fences and trees!
Sorry that last bit is a pet hate!

I've always found enough come off with a damp rag to let me continue, the stubborn ones are dealt with when I stop by putting wet kitchen roll on the visor and leaving it for an hour or so... (read unspecified length of time until I remember it's there)
They then seem to wipe off without any major probs :)

Its usually the damp rag for me or gob on it and use my shirt. Baby wipes are great, though. You can get them in little dinky 'travel' packs and keep them in your pocket. They do tend to dry out once they've been opened, though, and when they run out its months until you remember to buy some more.
Is 'stiction' a real word? I do hope so.

I've used it in some pretty official engineering reports and people seem to get it, so I think it is now.

Bees wax on the visor can help. On the bay wipe front - keep a look out occasionally they come with a free plastic pot that will hold half a dozen and slips into a pocket quite well - keeps them fresher.
Now tell me, Olive oil is made from olives, peanut oil from peanuts. Is baby oil made from babies?

I'll try the baby wipes ,it will get the wife worried :)
As for the oil what is engine oil made from old engines ?

Aye E,
You can even freshen up the face after a nights camping!!! That might really worry your wife.
I'd better stop, I can sense a TC inuendo moment approaching.
As for stiction! Just part of my phraseology, not intended to provoke to much grey cell activity and often used when referring to front forks without that exotic coating on the stanchions. You know the 'goldie' coloured stuff, beloved of MV and MotoGP, not 24 carat!
