I was at one of our local bike shops on Saturday where I spotted a Yamaha SR400 lurking in the background. Looks like a fairly early model as it has a TLS drum front brake. It's a bit scruffy as it's been used for commuting for the last 3 years but it only has 19000 on the clock, no obvious oil leaks though I haven't heard it running yet. A quick look round shows a bit of rust but everything appears to be there and nothing seems rotten. Only bad thing I could see was the back wheel which has several loose spokes so will need re tightening/rebuilding/ replacing. Asking price is negotiable around £300ish.
I'm thinking it may be a good replacement for the GN250 which struggles to overtake anything travelling much over 55mph. Anyone had an SR400? What are they like? anything special to look out for? any info would be great thanks!
