Title: Quick question re radiators
Post by: iansoady on February 12, 2026, 03:02:20 PM
The sidecar mountings and radiator mountings want to be in the same place so have moved the latter. However, it ends up with the left hand rad (there are 2) being about 30mm higher than the RH one. The latter has the filler cap. This means that if I fill it up completely there will be a space at the top of the LH one (which has a bleed screw at its top).

Does this matter? All new stuff to me I'm afraid. This shows a temporary positioning arrangement for the LH one:

Aye Ian,

You'll be able to bleed it, but no fill the system, unless you fill through the bleed hole. Just makes topping up the coolant a bit of a faff and liable to cavitation, so less efficient cooling.

All depends how hard you intend to drive the chariot?!?

Not much help.

Good health, BillR

Thanks Bill, I've managed to get the 2 rads pretty much at the same level after a lot of trial and (mostly) error. I've had to move the RHS one further out but should ensure better cooling.
