No this is not a rude post about idiots on tour.... I need to remove the trip reset knobs from 2 speedometers (modern-ish Japanese) but can't for the life of me see how to do it. Any useful tips?

Sorry Ian no useful tips I’m afraid, however love the first bit. Made me giggle 🤣🤣🤣

Glad it amused you.....

Suggest you try "Sex Actually" with Alice Levene, see TV Guide Together TV or...the ones I've worked on have a tiny screw which is INSIDE the trip knob itself and if you're very careful can usually be undone with a jewellers screwdriver- phillips or slot head both seem to work.

Thanks Martin, although I don't understand your suggested TV programme.....

Sorry Ian, ignore me- I was just trying to add a bit of humour but maybe I went a bit too far!

Never mind, your other suggestion was correct for one of my speedos. There was a tiny phillips head screw lurking down there. The other one has a blind head so am a bit flummoxed......

Thanks Ian. The phillips type is very common in my experience. I've just stripped the clocks on my CB1 project to check out none functioning idiot lights -mainly due to poor electrical connections but also a blown bulb. It was a right Chinese puzzle trying to get it all back together in one piece. Luckily I didn't need to remove the trip meter knob but 36 year old plastic is not a good material to work with!
What's the other speedo off?
