I just got caught out ordering a second hand fuel tank from Germany. It never occurred to me that the tank would be liable to VAT on entry to this country, being second hand, but apparently this is so, and of course if you want to see your part, you have no option but to pay up. My own fault I know for not checking beforehand, but I have to say the whole experience felt unpleasantly like blackmail. Be warned!

Hi Pete
Annoying isn't it to pay a value added tax on a part that already has been through the bought and paid for (and therefore taxed) cycle on who knows how many occasions. Maybe robbery would be a better way of describing it.
I see you have no Meteor listed on your info anymore, has it gone?

Hi Ian, yes, the Meteor and the little Honda 125 have gone. After the last operation on my left hand I found the clutch on the Meteor to be too heavy for me, so I sold both to raise funds for the Rebel which has a very light slipper clutch. Originally I wanted a new Gb350, but the part ex values I was offered were totally insulting, so I went for a 2nd hand Rebel instead.

Good call Pete, the rebel is a cracking bike. The clutch on my 350 Classic is a little heavy so I get why you would prefer the lighter Honda clutch.
