Title: MOTd at last.
Post by: Itsme on February 20, 2022, 09:15:53 AM
Hello everyone

Finally got the Mighty Midget MOTd yesterday after weeks of chasing round this bloomin' fault where the rear light dimmed slightly when the indicators are flashing. In the end I wired the indicators to a spare battery I have and secreted it in the redundant air box thus separating the two systems entirely. I tried the voltage booster thanks Ian but to no avail so if you want it back please let me have an address and I will post it back.

The spare battery is only a temporary solution just to get the MOT sorted as my tax runs out at the end of the month. I had a chat with a bloke I know who is a Harley mechanic and he reckons it could be that the cheap rear light I have fitted is somehow feeding back the earth through the bulb. Can't say I understand it but for a few quid I am willing to try a different light.

Anyway the Mighty Midget lives to fight another year so big sighs of relief all round.

Good news. I don't think I need the gadget back (although never say never) so maybe you could just keep it safe till I decide otherwise?

Great news Ian, always a relief when something that’s been stressing one out finally gets resolved. Hopefully a new rear light will sort the issue once and for all 🤞
Anyway like you say the good ol GN lives on for another 12 months 👍👍
Cheers, Michael

Thank you gentlemen all. I am now just going to run the Mighty Midget for a while to re-gain my confidence in it. Thanks fo all the kind offers and thanks Rufus but I already have a GN rear light spare and just let me know Ian if you need the gadget cback.
