Title: Battery Sir?

Whisper this quietly, but I'll need to find some nice stiff card and a strong clothes peg!  ;)

10 to 15 years from now it might be the only "fuel" that you can buy!

well, joking aside, this makes excellent business sense. then it'll be down to the individual manufacturers to come up with the most efficient motor, best running gear and most attractive design ... (and of course price)  the bike industry leads the way again ....

Yes, looks good. I can't understand (well I probably can*) why there isn't a standard hookup for electric cars as well. Not having one myself I haven't experienced the problem but apparently there are a variety of different incompatible fittings out there.

If Joseph Whitworth could standardise screw threads in the 19th century it should be easy enough.

*It's probably the "free market" - and don't mention Betamax / VHS......

I hope I'm wrong, but until they can get solid state batteries working, I think the whole EV thing is dead in the water, and I'm begining to think that solid state batteries are going to be like nuclear fusion - always five years in the future. Removable battery packs may be the answer for scooters and small bikes, but useless for cars and other vehicles

Good idea for small vehicles. A bit like swapping your Calor gas bottles really - the biggest expense is buying the bottle in the first place, after that you only pay for the gas.
