From our own Mr. Ian Soady no less. I skim the letters as I'm not usually interested in them and when I found myself reading about a chap with an ES2 who recently sold a Guzzi V50 I thought 'hang on a minute I recognise this story'.
I didn't think this month's RC was one of the better issues and I have to say I'm a bit fed up (jealous?) of reading about yet another bike bought by Mr Westworth but nice to see a familiar name in print.

I think you are also mentioned in a bike magazine this month Smithy - Check out "Rick's Fixes" in the latest (August) edition of Classic Bike........ ;)

Yes RC has become a bit variable these days. I have no interest in reading tests of bikes like the modern Guzzis although the article about the bitsa made with an NSU engine was worth a read. And yet another Bonneville "test" by the retired optician - scraping the bottom of an already worn out barrel.
I don't buy any other mags but our local library (Worcestershire) has a facility to "borrow" digital copies which is useful. Rick's fixes is about the only thing in CB worth bothering with. Didn't see the spartacus ref however.....

Yep, Ian's name is up in lights. Fame at last! There's also a good article on SR500's for the layman like me, though it may be full of errors to the experts on here ;)

I am indeed the Ian Smith that Rick mentions. Been a good month then for Thumperteers in print.
