Very lovely indeed. I bet you have tons of fun on that. Does it look like it was an easy conversion?

I think it looks relatively easy (for a competent engineer) rubber mountings still used, rear wheel reversed and gearchange swapped via linkage, just taxed it so might get out for a ride later..

So, the 'Thrapston Flagellator' has now had a canter on some Scottish roads, rather than the congested flatlands of Northamptonshire. Good to read that the 'old bird' bops along and stops! :)

Just had a wee afternoon 'siesta' having been for a 90 mile bop on the 450 through Strathearn, Stirling and the Ochil hillfoot villages, before returning via Glen Devon and Gleneagles and getting soaked within 4 miles of the house, in the distance of about a mile! Bu**er! ::)

Good health Rufus and I think that you will enjoy the highways and biways of the Borders and D&G with it. Just watch out for marauding 'Thumperteers' from the North and South! ;)

It goes very well, comfortable, quick enough, 3 gallon tank, brakes are superb, easily the best drum brakes I have used and better than some discs. Gearchange is very good
considering all the linkage and it is smooth thanks to rubber mountings..

Aye Rufus,

Any idea what the lining material is on the brake shoes?

I am just wondering if they are the original shoes or a new set that have been re-lined and using a more modern friction material?

Thank you for your time.

Hi Rufus

Sounds like you've got a good bike there. I like the gear change crossover as it looks like the kind of modification I could achieve with my limited skills.

What are your plans for the Conda? Touring, greenlaning, sprinting? All of the above?

I have just ordered a new front tyre and tube so when the wheel is out I will see if there are any identifying features...
